Reviews and Ratings
I had a pleasant stay at the hotel. The room was lovely with a balcony offering a beautiful view of Rutland Water. However, there were some issues with the doors not opening easily and the broken floor tiles in the bathroom that felt sharp. On the bright side, the bar man who checked us in was smart and welcoming.
The hotel had a busy but nicely laid out breakfast from the adjacent room, although pretty basic for the price. The service was extremely helpful, especially for my brother's wedding, but I felt a bit disturbed by the frequent knocking on my door. The location offered fantastic views and was cozy with the fire lit upon arrival, yet some areas were untidy with uncleared crockery. The dining was good despite some missing options, ensuring an overall enjoyable stay.
The hotel offers nice, comfortable, and clean rooms of a generous size, some with Rutland reservoir views. However, being located above a pub may result in weekend noise. The service is wonderful and provides a great setting, with friendly and efficient staff. The location is fantastic, right in the center of Rutland Water, offering pleasant views and easy access for exploration. The dining experience, though mostly excellent, can occasionally present dishes that seem pre-cooked with cheap ingredients. Overall, a great place to stay with minor drawbacks.
